Learn to prepare a horse for riding, learn what motivates him, and create trust between horse and human which will allow for a better partnership while riding. The riding section will focus on balance and control for safety for arena or for future trail riding. The mount, dismount, walk, trot (jog), steering, and stopping. Learn what to do if your horse spooks or bolts and how to bring them back under control while keeping your balance. Begin building core and leg strength.
Partnering getting ready to ride and learning from watching one another ride thereby promoting confidence and better understanding through helping one another. Also by sharing a horse, each rider is not pressured into riding longer than they are comfortable. Instructor will recommend the number of horses best suited to accommodate your size group.
Can be a weekly class for regular students or a one time family/group act
With over 10 years experience working with autistic children and children with ADHD, Ms. Becky patiently customizes each lesson for the individual. We strive for everyone to have a positive experience with horses. Lessons will range from horse safety and grooming to horseback riding. Students can progress at their own pace. No diagnosis necessary.
Continue learning about horsemanship and riding with more advanced horses. Walk, trot, canter (lope). Classes are in the arena, but learn skills that can be taken to the trail.

50 minute lesson is on the ground only. Includes safety, grooming, feeding, health issues, hoof care, and saddle and bridle styles and fit. Learn more about horses or build confidence or just enjoy the horse. Prerequisite to groundwork partnership training with the horse. An activity to enjoy horses without riding, learn about care before buying your own horse, or build responsibility for younger students. Also for anyone wanting to explore volunteerism or a career in horses.
2 person minimum. This class is on the ground only. Includes safety, grooming, feeding, health issues, hoof care, and saddle and bridle styles and fit. A good class for someone wanting to learn more about horses, build confidence or who just wants to enjoy being around them. Prerequisite to groundwork partnership training with the horse.
